Discovering Québec’s Advances in the Field of Public Transportation
18 May 2016 - 19 May 2016
May 18 and 19, 2017
DICOVERING QUÉBEC’S ADVANCES IN THE FIELD OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
The Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ) is proud to contribute to the organization of the « post-tour » for the UITP Global Public Transport Summit which will be held in Montréal between May 15 and 17, 2017.
ATUQ is the reference in Québec public transportation. It represents the province’s nine public transportation societies. They serve the province’s largest cities including Montréal, Québec, Lévis, Laval, Longueuil, Gatineau, Trois-Rivières, Saguenay and Sherbrooke and provide between them more than 90% of Québec’s travels in public transport.
ATUQ is also a consensus-building organization and one for public and political representation providing technical support to its members and promoting public transit by positioning its member societies as key players of sustainable development and mobility.
On May 18 and 19, 2017, immediately after the Summit, four activities will be offered to participants registered to the Summit. They represent a unique opportunity to learn about what is being done in four of Québec’s large cities, namely Laval, Longueuil, Québec and Gatineau.
On Thursday May 18, it is possible to enroll in two visits, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, as the visited networks are located on the outskirts of Montréal, the Summit’s host city. The program offered by the STL (in the morning) and the RTL and AMT (in the afternoon) allows for combining both visits.
Québec and Gatineau-Ottawa being further from Montréal, those visits require traveling. In both instances, the proposed visits are spread over two days allowing for the addition of a sightseeing tour to the program.
The visits are all free of charge. They represent a rare opportunity to discover our networks and initiatives, and to meet with the men and women who work there. Enjoy!
